BIOGRAPHY

Jan Skryhan was born in Minsk , Belarus in 1979, began his musical studies at the music school with S.Kolgan, M.Schyla, continued then with V.Belyshev at the Music College Minsk, with Prof. Valery Zhyvelewski at the Belarusian Academy of Music and at the Highschool of Music Cologne with prof. Dieter Kreidler (Performing Art) and Prof. Roberto Aussel (Master).

Since 2004 he has been scholar of the “Hartmut and Lore Schuler Foundation”, Sellheim Konzertgesellschaft and initiative "Live Music Now" - Yehudi Menuhin foundation.

Jan Skryhan has won several prizes at the international guitar competitions such as:

1. Prize at the „I.Zhynovitch“, Belarus

1. Prize at the „Tychy “ 1998, Poland
1. Prize at the „Krynica “ 2000, Poland
1. Prize at the „The Cup of North “ 2000, Russia
3. Prize at the „Templin “ 2002, Germany
3. Prize at the „J. K. Mertz “ 2003, Slovakia
3. Prize at the „John Duarte Competition Rust “ 2003, Austria
1. Prize at the „F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Hochschulwettbewerb“ 2004, Germany
3. Prize at the "49 Tokyo International Guitar Competition " 2006, Japan
3. Prize at the "Barmenia" 2008, Germany

Grand-Prix-winner at the Chamber Music Competition “Ghitaralia” in 2001 in Poland
3 rd -prize-winner at the Chamber Music Competition “Erst-Klassik” in 2004 in Germany.

 

As a guest he took part in numerous music festivals such as:

“Mendelssohn Festtage” Germany,

„Kobe International Music Festival“ – Japan,

„Semaine internationale de la guitare“ – France,

„MUSICA VIVA“ – festival of the old music, Germany.

“Maltese Capella“ Vorontsov Palace – Russia, St. Petersburg

Concert tours in Italy, France and Japan.

 

He has recorded CDs – “PALETTE” - Italian Mandolin and Guitar Music

„LITVIN FANTASIAS“ – Belarusian Contemporary Guitar Music
